The Intero Foundation Surpasses $3 Million Collected Since 2002

Eleven years of giving back to the children who need it most in Silicon Valley.

The Intero Foundation, a non-profit organization, created by the founders of Intero Real Estate Services in 2002 to benefit children in need, announced that it has donated over $215,000to 31 charities throughout the San Francisco Bay Area in 2013 as part of its mission to positively impact the growth and well-being of children in our communities.  Empowered by Intero agents and employees, the foundation has collected over $3 million benefitting more than 130 nonprofit organizations over the last eleven years.

John Thompson, Intero’s Executive Vice President explains, “Agents donate a portion of their earnings from every home that is sold. As a company, this commitment makes a big statement. Therefore, when you drive by an Intero for sale sign or work with an Intero Realtor, you can feel good that at risk children in the community will be served and we thank each and every one of you for your support.”

In addition to the agents’ contributions, in 2013, Intero hosted a variety of fundraising events including their second annual Intero Day at the Giants which raised over $10,000.  Hot Wheels for Kids, a car show benefiting the foundation that takes place at the company’s Saratoga office, brought in $7,000.  And Intero’s newest event, Saratoga Eats, a neighborhood food truck adventure, was so successful, they scheduled a second one just a few months after the first. The two food truck events combined brought in another $10,000.  All of the money donated at these events goes directly to children in need through organizations in the Bay Area.

“Intero’s Value #4 is Commitment and by that we mean being committed to the community.  As Realtors we earn our living by serving our community so it was fundamental when we started Intero to figure out a way that we could give back to the community and we do that through The Intero Foundation which helps children in need,” says Gino Blefari, President and CEO of Intero Real Estate Services, Inc.

Intero Foundation President, Cathy Jackson adds, “It's the circle of giving which keeps our communities strong. We are fortunate to have a culture, here at Intero, of people who care and are generous.  They see the importance of growing the next generation. Being part of this mission gives purpose to the work we do.”

The Intero Foundation continues to impact the growth and well-being of children and youth in the communities they serve. In 2013, Intero gave back to the following organizations:

The Intero Foundation is funded, promoted and governed by Intero agents – each of whom are vested in the health of the communities in which they work and live. All members of the Intero community – executives, staff and agents – donate their time to further the Foundation’s mission.

Intero and its agents have always believed in the importance of giving back to the communities in which they serve, and 2013 was a perfect example of paying it forward.
