On October 19, the Foundation presented a $6,000 grant check to an arts based non-profit in Menlo Park.

Art in Action, founded in 1982 to help California schools institute art education programs, strives to expose children to art and culture from around the world. In the last 33 years, Art in Action has helped over 350,000 students, trained over 10,000 teachers, and contributed to nearly 200 schools in the Bay Area.

The $6,000 grant will be used to implement art programs in four Title 1 (schools with high numbers of low income students) schools in Redwood City. These art programs will serve over 300 K-8 students, and will aim to ignite students’ thinking and creativity. Students will learn art vocabulary and culture, create art themselves, and have their artwork displayed in classrooms during the school year.

Art in Action continues to amaze us with their dedication to Bay Area children, and we’re honored to help them in their endeavor!
